Trudy’s TexMex has closed shop this week at it’s final location on Burnet Road.
In May of 2024, the statesman posted about the last of 2 remaining locations closing, but indicated hope for the company to look into new ways to expand.
Ever since 2020’s aquisition due to bankruptcy, however, all that talk turned into closed location after closed location.
Officially closing this week makes our hearts ache. Trudy’s now joins the list of austin establishments that have closed in the last few months, including The Lost Well, Giddy Ups, Baby A’s and Oat Willie’s.
In the meantime, we’ll hold onto the last message from Trudy’s farewell post:
“While the North Star chapter is coming to an end, the Trudy’s Tex-Mex brand continues forward, committed to exploring new opportunities to serve the Austin community.”
Cheers to that! Thank you for the memories, Trudy’s!
